Chart: PMG publishes chart to help make sense of USPS increase

PMG has just published a timely postal rate chart highlighting the latest USPS postal increase that took effect April 17th.

The rate changes won’t affect the average consumer mailing a single letter – first class letters weighing one ounce or less will still be 44 cents (although the second ounce will now cost you 20 cents, up from 17 cents). More importantly, the changes will impact pre-sort first class and standard rate mailings for business and nonprofit mailers.

The cap for the increase is 1.741% as averaged across the class of mail being used. The first 3.3 ounces of any nonprofit (or for profit) mailing will remain the same, but subsequent ounces will be subject to the increased rates.
